Education for Tomorrow, Faith for a Lifetime.
The music curriculum encompasses five areas of mastery:
All students learn how to write music and perform on percussion instruments, identify and apply characteristics of music related to pitch, rhythm, and sound, and appreciate and analyze music from different historical periods.
Elementary students play games and perform dances from different cultures. They create personal responses to music through art and dance. Fourth and fifth graders expand their experience of music through study on the recorder. Middle school students perform more complex rhythms in percussion ensembles and develop the tools to critically analyze and discuss the elements of music.
