8th Grade ILA Information
The 8th-grade curriculum focuses on preparing students for high school. Writing and reading will become increasingly analytical. We will read a diverse assortment of texts over the course of the year, relying on novels, poetry, current event articles, and our textbook. Writing skills will continue to be fine-tuned, and there will be weekly in-class essays focusing on one of the components of literature from our current text. Vocabulary and grammar will continue to be studied in the context of the text we are reading.
Novels and Text
The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor
Students will make interest driven decisions about other books that they will read this year in Book Clubs.
